Lesson 2: Learner Feedback

Home / Courses / Universal Design for Modern Course Creators / Why Accessibility Matters for Every Learner

Overview

Accessibility is an evolving process, and learner feedback plays a key role in identifying real-world challenges. In this lesson, you’ll explore how to collect meaningful feedback about the learner experience, from mid-course surveys to anonymous accessibility reports. You’ll also learn how to respond to this feedback constructively and align it with UDL principles to foster a more inclusive learning environment.

Objectives

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Implement strategies to gather accessibility-related feedback.
  • Identify touchpoints for collecting learner input (mid-course, post-course).
  • Respond constructively to learner-reported accessibility barriers.
  • Align feedback practices with UDL and inclusive teaching strategies.

Exercise

Before moving on, take a moment to reflect on what you’ve just learned. These questions are designed to help you connect the lesson content to your own course and your future learners.

You can jot down your answers, share your thoughts in the comments, or just reflect quietly. These small reflections will help you shape your learner persona at the end of the module.

  1. Who are your potential learners and what specific needs might they have?
  2. Identify 2-3 characteristics that will influence how you design your course.
